Commissions Top New York and Chicago restaurants McNichol's specially commissioned paintings now may be seen at two new, centrally located restaurants, one in New York City and one in Chicago. Bogdanow Partners Architects planned the interi- ors of both spaces and knew McNichol's work would evoke just the mood they were envisioning. The focal point of Celadon's downstairs dining room on Manhattan's Upper East Side is "Lake Sound Light." It's a sweeping 10-foot, mural-like landscape, 3-1/2 feet tall, that views a distant horizon set in an expanse of large open fields. Also on display are the smaller but still healthy-sized "Celadon Vase," "Bay View," and "Land's Beginning." "Distant Vineyard" brings a Tuscan theme to life in Caliterra's leisurely lounge. The Chicago restaurant is part of a newly renovated Wyndham Hotel. Private collectors In New York, a private collector recently installed "Four Seasons," four paintings of different ocean views, one for each season. First Atlantic Capital just commissioned a marine landscape for their mid-town Manhattan offices.
